He fought on par with Katara when Azula was getting her had haned to her.

Zuko was getting his arse handed to him by Aang. Besides that is measuring them fighting against one opponent. Zuko was on the offensive, Katara wasn't attacking and on defensive along with talking. It could also be Zuko is great against Katara but he gets his arse handed to him by Azula. Any Game player knows some things are more effective then others. Azula also didn't get hit at all by Aang

No offense, but what does that have to do with whether or not Zuko can beat Ozai? Sure Aang may be able to beat Zuko, but he's the Avatar. Besides different people have different strengths and weeknesses. I'm not saying that Zuko could beat the Fire Lord right now, on that I'm undecided, but with a little more training I thing Zuko would definitely win.

zuko is a powerful fire bender but he lets his feelings of shame and humilaty get in the way
i mean in book 1 he didn,t even master his basics and stil he put zhau down like a girl
i think he can surpass ozai if he let those feelings go

i think he could beat his sister but it would be a pretty good battle but his father NO WAY his dad was not expecting him to redirect the lightning but now he would be expecting him to redirect it so he would use a deferent tequniqe
