and here's the next chapter of Sanaki's life story... the next part is even better...
CHAPTER 6 I might have been young, but I was a prodigious firebender who devoted almost all of my spare time to the art. Incidentally, I also took place in Agni Kai practices. Of course, I had to prove my abilities every time because of my young age, but the people I fought always seemed to be the same thuggish morons who didn’t know how to fight. From what I understood, they used me as a disciplining agent for their army, yet I had no formal rank, nor did I have requirements. They just knew that I would show up for another fight, and sure enough, I always did.
My reputation became notorious as I grew up. I became a very skilled firebender because I spent my time doing almost nothing else. I even put most of my gambling career behind me, which explains why I did not do it as much in my later years. However, despite my reputation, I continued to be the same little girl I always was. One day though, something strange happened. A man and a little girl showed up. I had met them before, but only for short times. The man’s name was Zihark, and the girl’s name was Mikaya. Mikaya was almost exactly like me. She could have been my twin sister; even Kai said those very words. Anyways, Kai and this Zihark fellow seemed to be together more and more and I could tell that they liked each other. However, one day, they disappeared—Zihark and Mikaya. I wanted to find my best friend Mikaya again, but I didn’t know where she ran off to. I had lived on my own before, and I figured that since she was exactly like me (so I thought) she had probably done the same.
“Sanaki,” Kai told me, “they have taken Zihark to prison.” “Why?” I asked, both surprised and curious, “Because of the current war, Sanaki,” Kai told me, “they are rounding anyone up that is not loyal to the Fire Nation’s evil cause. It is only a matter of time before they find us.” Kai was right. We ended up getting taken as well. The trip was long and hard, but Kai helped me to endure it, and I did. Kai told me that the name of the prison we were now in was called “The Boiling Rock”. I had heard stories of it, and Kai told me it was the most secure prison in the entire Fire Nation. However, I knew of several of the Fire Nation’s flaws, whether it came from my eavesdropping or my fighting the soldiers in Agni Kais. I knew that nothing was foolproof, so as my time here went on, I began analyzing as much of the area that I could without getting caught. Luckily, I was allowed to remain barefoot because it helped me to “see” better. Initially they didn’t care, but I convinced them by saying the better I can “see”, the better I’ll be able to do what they told me to.
Life here was not as bad as Kai and I thought it would be. I wasn’t able to dance and sing as much as I used to, but whenever I had a moment to myself that was what I did. However, I never did any firebending, for I learned early on that that was something that would get you into trouble. I also noticed that Kai would never waterbend either. I decided one day to ask her about this. “Kai,” I said, “how come you never waterbend anymore?”
Kai told me to stay quiet, “I do not waterbend,” she told me, “because it is more dangerous than firebending. If I am caught, I will likely be put to death. The war has gotten that bad. Zihark is aware of it as well.” “Where is Zihark?” I asked, “And, is Mikaya with him?” “Somehow,” Kai replied, “Mikaya managed to avoid getting caught. I do not know where she is, Sanaki. I am sorry.”
“Oh,” I replied, “its okie. I was just wondering. So, where is Zihark?” “I see him occasionally when I’m doing my duties,” Kai replied, “Oh, and how do they treat you when we are apart?” “Well,” I said, “considering we’re in a prison, it’s actually pretty good. I mean, they don’t hurt me at all because I behave well. Guess who taught me that?” I smiled and hugged Kai, and she hugged me back. “Kai,” I said, “I’m going to get you, me, and Zihark out of here one way or another, Okie?”
“Sanaki,” said Kai,”that’s very sweet, but I don’t think it’s possible.” “Well,” I said, “my plans are not anywhere near done yet, but I think it is. I just need to find the way around this place and how the staff runs and I’ll be in tip-top shape. You won’t have to worry about a thing, Kai. I’ll do everything; you just follow when I need you, Okie?” “Okay, Sanaki,” Kai replied, “it’s just that I worry about you. You mean so much to me—it’s as if you’re my child.” I knew long ago that I was not really Kai’s child. After all, she was a waterbender and I was a firebender. However, we had such a close bond that it was better than many bonds between those of families that were biologically related.
“I promise that I won’t let you down, Kai,” I said, and suddenly I heard a whistle, which meantime and the other “anti-Fire Nation” children were being rounded up. “Goodbye Sanaki,” Kai told me, “do take care of your self until we meet again, please.” “Okie,” I replied, and ran off to where I was supposed to go…

and the sequel to this part is finally out... man it's been so long...
CHAPTER 7 Life at the Boiling Rock could have been a lot worse. Luckily, I was a happy girl that did not let very many things get me down, but one time, I lost control and was caught firebending. I was taken to a place known only as the coolers and locked in.
It was freezing in there. I was scared, because for the first time, I was completely blind. I had no feeling. I huddled myself into a ball and remained motionless. Then I decided to get a feel for the place. It was larger than I thought, and I was too short to know where the ceiling was. I was later taken out, and after I had regained myself, I thought of something. That chamber I had been in was made of ice. Ice was made of water. I suddenly had a plan. I found Kai and Zihark in the same area, for I had snuck off.
“Kai, Zihark,” I whispered; luckily I had come during a down time. “I found a way out.” “Really now,” Zihark exclaimed quietly, “that was fast.” “It’s simple really.” I replied, “We need to get the three of us into one of those coolers. From there, we need to make it look like it accidentally broke off. There is ice in the coolers, which you two could convert into water. That would be your means of getting it broken off of the main building.”
“But we’re waterbenders,” said Kai, “They’re not gong to put us in there. We obviously can’t firebend.” “That’s where I come in,” I replied, smiling, “I’ll make it look like you two got into a fight and started firebending. They’ll see me where I’m not supposed to be and take me as well. I’m notorious for wandering off.” “Sanaki,” said Kai, “have they been hurting you at all?”
“No,” I replied calmly, “they just threw me into the cooler once, and that was how I figured this out.” “But,” said Zihark, “won’t the noise from us breaking off of the building catch the attention of the watchmen,” “Aye,” I replied, “that it why we need to make sure we go into the water.” “But the water is boiling hot,” Kai exclaimed, “Sanaki, this is not called the boiling rock for no reason.” “Kai; Zihark,” I said, “I know what I’m doing. “We need to go below the water, and that is where your waterbending skills will come in handy. We will remain underneath the water. You two will bend it away. I have heard stories about a certain bender girl once doing the same thing.” “That might actually work,” said Zihark, “and once we get past that, we can simply make it a boat.”
“Aye,” I replied, “because we’re all really good benders—mostly you two though. It’s not like we’d be at the mercy of the Fire Nation. Speaking of which, why is the Fire Nation against the rest of the world? I thought there was a war like that years and years ago.” “It is something from within the fire nation, Sanaki,” said Kai, “and—oh, here they come.” The guards shouted, and I motioned to Zihark and Kai that his was their cue. They seemed hesitant at first, but then began quarreling. Their “fight” ended up in me using some fire to make it look like it came from Kai or Zihark, and the three of us were rounded up and taken to a cooler. My plan had worked to my utmost surprise.
“And now,” I said, shivering, “you two know what to do.” We ended up breaking off in such a manner that we got about ¾ of the circle—this would make a much better boat than I expected. We plunged towards the boiling water, and Kai and Zihark were skilled enough to make the water they were getting rid of look like part of the splash. We went under and were beneath the boiling lake. However, Kai and Zihark were able to keep us dry and safe, despite being at the bottom of this lake. I wished I could have helped them, but they were adults and I was just a kid—or so they told me.” “Sir,” said one of the guards to one of a higher rank, “did you just see what happened?” “Of course I did, you idiot,” he replied, “and if anyone is in there they surely burned to death by now. The chamber has not even surfaced yet.”
Of course, we did not hear this, but we did not need to. By sunset that same day, we had crossed the mountain and were on the other side in open water.” “So,” I said, “which way to land?” “Our nearest location is the Western Air Temple,” said Zihark, “and perhaps we can convince some of the air sisters to come out of hiding.” “Well, Zihark,” I said, “you and Kai were practically meant for each other. You’re both so serene and kind. I’m pretty sure that because of your natures that you’ll be able to bring the air sisters out.” I could feel both Kai and Zihark blushing. I did not need to ask them if they loved each other, but I was already cooking up a plan on how to remedy this. Kai and Zihark needed to be together for time and all eternity. I could just feel it. However, I decided not to say anything, seeing as both of them were really shy and I did not want to embarrass them when there was nowhere else to go. Luckily I had stolen some food previous to our departure, but we mostly survived on water, which Kai purified for us. It was unbelievable that my plan had come off so well. It was almost as if there should have been a catch...

and here's another part...
CHAPTER 8 Miraculously, we were able to land at the Western Air temple a while later. Because of the current situation the world was in, many of the air nomads were still in hiding. However, we got to search the place and found signs that they indeed still lived here. “They’ll come out if you two call for them,” I suggested, “They can probably sense serenity in your voice. Besides, we all know that all of us are too nice to do anything to harm these sisters.” I could sense both Kai and Zihark looking at each other, and I suddenly felt them both blush. Nonetheless, after all was said and done, Zihark volunteered to call out for the air sisters. We wandered deeper into the temple, Zihark calling out. He may have felt like (and probably looked like; but I didn’t know, being blind and all) a tough, dangerous man, but in reality, he was like a Male version of Kai. He was shy, humble, quiet, and peaceful. I personally believed that he was the perfect match for Kai, but didn’t say anything yet.
Anyways, Zihark was able to convince some of the air sisters to come out and they treated us nicely and gave us food, shelter and hospitality. A few of the younger ones were curious about our story, but some of the elder sisters forbade them from asking us. “Are you sure?” Kai replied, “For we do not mind sharing our story to those who are interested in hearing it.” “If you are okay with sharing it,” said one of the elder sisters, “then you may tell them. We do not believe in trying to get personal information out of people when they do not wish to disclose it.” “That is understandable,” Kai replied, “but anyone willing to listen may gather around.” Zihark, Kai and I were all able to tell our parts of the story, all of which were similar, but were from our standing points, and, since sometimes we had been separated, there were differences. The air sisters all listened with serenity and respect, never saying a word unless Kai paused to see if they had questions. They seemed interested in our story. However, they did not badger us about it unless we volunteered to share information with them.
We continued to live among these air sisters for several weeks. Kai and Zihark helped wherever and whenever they could, and I tried to do the same. A lot of the time though, they did not need me to help, and they especially took care of me because I was blind. I felt slightly hurt by this, for my blindness was never anything I needed help with. However, these sisters were persistent, and I grew to accept their help, and they taught me a few tips on how to manage my blindness even better. I thanked them for it. However, my thoughts were on different things. I was closely listening to the actions of Kai and Zihark, especially towards each other. They seemed attracted to each other, but too shy to say anything. My theories however, were about to be proved. It happened in two separate incidents on the same day, and both were within an hour of each other. Kai came first and confessed that she loved Zihark, but was too shy to tell him. Later on, Zihark came to me telling me that he loved Kai, but was too shy to say anything.
I did not react until a few days later, after I noticed them shying away from each other more and more. Therefore I devised a plan. I had them both meet me at a certain place at a certain time. When they both arrived, I had only one thing to say. They were facing each other, and I was facing forward, my blind eyes not moving. “Zihark, you love Kai.” I said, “And Kai, you love Zihark. So, you two need to stop shying away from it, just confess your love to each other right now, and then get married, Okie? I can’t take too much more of this. Don’t be shying away from each other.” This put them both into shock, and I could sense that my words had hit those dead on. They knew it was true, I knew it was true, and a random young air sister that was recovering from a crash-landing from a glider accident knew it as well.
A few days later, with the help of the air sisters, Kai and Zihark were married. Zihark was a wanderer who didn’t have a last name, and so he picked up the last name Serenes from Kai. These two were happy together, and everyone, including most of the air nomads we spent our time with, knew that this was better for them. This made Zihark my new “father” (just like Kai was my “mother”) and it made Mikaya my new sister. Of course, back then I did not know we were blood sisters, but from that point onwards we were sisters as far as I was concerned. This sort of thing got me to wonder what my parents and blood family were like. I had heard terrible rumors about them, but I had no way of proving them true or not. However, I kept my mind busy by playing with some of the younger airbender girls, or keeping the new Serenes couple happy. I began to enjoy life here at the Western Air Temple, and the three of us began to grow a bond with the airbenders that lived here. We knew that whenever we left, that we would certainly return again—and again.
