This site has NO Ursa fanfictions, so I don't know how this will be accepted. Anyway, I hope everyone likes it. This is how I imagine it all began. This will run right along until it comes to a natural close...but I won't tell you how I intend to end it.
This is just the first part. I will work in a flash back of what happened, how the events are set up...but for now...
Why me, Why him, Why NOW!
Chapter one: The Wedding.
A sixteen year old girl knelt at the alter near the cold-hearted man who was to become her husband. Ozai was his name; he was the younger son of her leader, Fire Lord Azulon. She shivered slightly as her father’s words rang through her mind. ‘Ursa, you are to become the prince’s wife’. He had said it on the day she had turned sixteen…she had never met Ozai…she’d never even left home.
Ursa’s hand shook slightly as she took the Oath Cup from the Fire Sage. A bitter taste filled her mouth as she brought the cup to her lips. She drank deeply of the liquid within it. The Fire Sage took it from her as she finished swallowing. Ursa and Ozai rose as one; Ozai pulled her into a – slightly rough – embrace before the people of the Fire Nation, and cheers erupted from the crowd as he did so.
Ozai released her from the crushing embrace and smiled that cold, uncaring smile. “What’s wrong Ursa? You seem, scared.” He sounded like he was really concerned for her.
Ursa forced a bright smile. “Nothing, my Prince, I’ve just never been around so many people before.” She said it lightly, well, it really wasn’t a lie. She’d never been around so many people at one time before…let him believe her a bit shy.
“You’ll get used to it.” Ozai said, but the way he said it…it didn’t quite sound like he was referring to the crowd. Ursa forced herself to keep smiling, but she didn’t say another word.
She shivered as he led her toward the palace, passing close to Azulon himself, as well as Iroh and his young son, Lu Ten. Iroh offered her a smile, Azulon a cold glance…but Lu Ten laughed and reached out to touch her hand, a smile on his young face.
Ursa smiled back gently and squeezed his hand before continuing forward with Ozai, who looked distinctly unhappy about her pause with Lu Ten. She settled her eyes on the ground as she walked beside him, deciding quickly that playing with his temper would be a bad idea.
Soon they reached the Palace, and he showed her to ‘their’ rooms. They were quite luxurious….but not at all what she was used to…and of course, they were sharing, after all, they were married now, Ursa wasn’t quite happy with the idea yet, but she would live with it, because she had little, if any choice.

Thank you both for your comments. Now chapter two:
Chapter 2: The Discovery
It had been about six months since the day that she had married Ozai. For six, long, long months, she had been cooped up inside the palace walls, and Ursa hated it. Ohh, the gardens were lovely, but to her, it felt like a prison, a beautiful prison, but a prison all the same. Still, she smiled as often as she could, trying not to let on about the fact that she was unhappy with her surroundings. She avoided the Court when ever she could, but it was rare at best, seeing as she was Ozai’s wife, she could not often be absent without notice.
As it was, she spent much of her time outside, in the gardens, because at least there, she could smell the flowers, and enjoy fresh air, usually alone. Often, she had Lu Ten for company, he spent much time in her presence in his own father’s absence…Iroh was away leading some attack or another, Ursa wasn’t even sure which one at the moment.
Ozai was not cruel…she couldn’t really say that about him, as much as she would have liked to. He was just cold; like he had no emotions in him…she didn’t like it at all. Hell, she didn’t really like him either, but life was life, and she would take what ever was thrown at her as it came, after all, what else could anyone do?
Ursa stared deep into the water of the pond, not focusing on the reflection there, but looking deeper, as she fell into thought. ‘What can I do but try to please him, and hope, that if I can get inside, there is more to him than I can see now….but how to I reach him? How can I reach him?’ Ursa wondered, but she remained silent, listening to the quite trickle of water.
Then, the nausea hit, causing Ursa to gag sharply, nothing came up though. She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling utterly confused. It didn’t make any sense, what could be making her sick? She shook her head and swallowed hard. She took a deep breath and stood, still wondering what was going on.
It took only a few more moments, as she began walking to occur to her, what one possible ailment was…and it wasn’t only possible, but rather likely, considering it was rather tried for…by Ozai at least. All things considered, it was the best idea, the best option. She was pregnant…Ozai would be thrilled, Right?
Now that the mystery was solved, so to speak, Ursa was happier, her first child. Would it be a boy, or a girl? What would they name it? What would he or she look like? Act like? These questions and more spun through Ursa mind, exciting her as she walked into the Palace. Now, where to find Ozai – he was always there when she didn’t want him, but when she did. Poof! He was no where to be found.
Then, finally, she found him, in the Throne room. She kept the smile on her face, though; it was a little harder here, as she approached the fire that surrounded the Fire Lord Azulon for the first time. She halted a few feet away from Ozai, and bowed, formally, to the Fire Lord, and then she continued forward to stand beside her husband. She kept her eyes on the ground, and oddly, neither actually addressed her, though, Ozai did put one arm around her possessively, like he always did.
“Ozai, you are dismissed.” Azulon said, sounding cold, cruel, and annoyed. Ozai led Ursa out without a word, it seemed, he knew better than to anger his father further.
“Now, what were you looking for me for?” Ozai asked, no trace of emotion in his voice, it was cool, and even. He glanced at her from the corner of his eye, and then kept walking toward their chambers.
“I thought you would want to know, that your First Born is on the way.” Ursa said quietly, the smile fading from her face. She gazed ahead as steadily as he did now.
“Really? That’s excellent.” Ozai said, though, he didn’t sound excited, or even happy for the fact that she had conceived his child.

Thanks guys for being patient and reading this. I tend to let myself go when I write so yeah. The next part will probably have something to do with Iroh, if I can figure out how to handle him...but it depends.
I'm glad so many people seem to like it so far. (i'm used to one or two people reading my fics)
anyway, off I go to write more.

Chapter 3 Alone…Well, Not Quite
About a week later, Ursa was sitting beside that same pond again, listening to young Lu Ten play near her, but watching the Turtle-ducks mostly. She was humming softly under her breath; she swayed a little, back and fourth.
Lu Ten was playing in the grass, at the moment; he was simply enjoying the freedom of the gardens. He rolled so that he was facing the Palace, and he saw his father. He smiled, about to stand and run to him. Iroh held up one finger, and pressed it to his lips. Lu Ten laughed, but lay back in the grass, understanding.
Iroh approached slowly, amazingly silent, completely careful, he wanted to surprise Ursa. After a moment, he stood right behind her, and she still didn’t know it. Carefully, he laid a hand on her shoulder. “Ursa,“ he greeted lightly. “It is lovely to see you again.” Ursa turned quickly, moving to face him. “Iroh, I’ve missed you around here. Have you spoken with your brother?” She asked, smiling up at him, and then motioning for him to take a seat beside her.
“Should I have? Someone told me my son spent an increasing amount of time in your presence, and that same someone told me that the two of you could usually be found here in the afternoons. So, it was here that I came,” Iroh said evenly, taking the seat beside her easily.
“So you don’t know yet,” She said, laughing softly.
Lu Ten darted forward, hugging his father and ending up on his lap, still laughing. “Auntie Ursa and Uncle Ozai are going to have a baby!” Lu Ten shouted. Ursa laughed softly as he did so.
Iroh looked at Ursa for a moment. “That’s splendid,” He laughed softly, pulling her into a tight embrace, pulling his son into it as well.
“I’m glad someone thinks so. I was starting to think that I was the only one who was excited that I was to have a child. Ozai was – neutral at best. Azulon seemed almost disdainful. Lu Ten was ecstatic…but he’s also a kid.” Ursa said finally, confiding her fears to Iroh in a way that she hadn’t dared to with anyone else.
“Ozai wasn’t very happy with the arrangements of his wedding. In his eyes, you are a peasant, because you were raised in a small village, and few know better than that. The ones that do, haven’t bothered to enlighten Ozai as to who you’re ancestors are, I among them, I do not think, you want him to know that at least. He will learn, but you must show him, that there is more to you than meets the eyes. Fight back a little, demand something that you want, show to him that you have a will, have power, and that you aren’t afraid of him. I think, that so long as you do not directly challenge him, a slight maneuver, to get yourself something he would not agree with – your own room for example – may show him that you aren’t going to be a subservient girl who won’t take up for anything,” Iroh said quietly, evenly, gazing at her.
Ursa pressed her lips together slightly as she listened to him, taking in what he said, and also thinking of how to respond. “So, you know, about that…hmmm No, I don’t want Ozai to know, that’s the last thing I need. Challenge him? Hmmm. The way you say it, that could be as simple as disregarding his order not to go to the practice grounds, and working with my fire bending,” Ursa said slowly, staring at Iroh, and then looking back toward the water.
Lu Ten shifted positions restlessly in Iroh’s lap. Iroh nodded, “Yes, I know about that, and I agree, Ozai should not know, he would use that somehow…Ursa, isn’t it that simple? All you’re trying to do is show him that you have a right to do as you wish, is that not enough of a challenge for him?” Iroh said calmly.
For the moment Ursa didn’t respond, she just continued staring into the water. After a few minutes, Ursa brushed her thick black hair back, over her shoulder, as she looked toward Iroh. “How long will you be in, this time?” She asked calmly, turning the subject onto neutral, safe ground, before they were overheard and someone told Ozai what they had discussed.
“I am not sure, hopefully a little while, but I can not promise anything.” Iroh said quietly, looking steadily back at her.
“You never can,” Ursa pointed out quietly.
(guys, I tried to work some Iroh into this...so, I'll need some real feed back. As in: did I keep him in character? Do I need to watch a bunch of Iroh episodes to get it right? I need to know because I do not want to get him out of character.
