of course, some n00bs AKA staff on another site (that I wouldn't mention even if I was allowed to) said she was "plagarism"...
and the best part? they said it wasn't 'coz of her blindness/bending-to"see" ability. they never specified why. therefore, I just laughed and pretty much told them in a *really* nice way "screw you"

Let me say this clearly.

There is nothing original to this character. It's Toph with a different name and ability, and that is simply unacceptable. It's not even the blindness that's the problem. NOTHING is original here.

I cannot accept this application without radical changes. I would suggest submitting an application for a different character entirely.

I'm sorry to have to be so harsh, but this application is borderline plagiarism.

after flying several roflcopters, I responded in the following manner...

the blindness and the pseudo-"vision" ability are not it? whoa... I totally thought that's what it was.

in that case... wow... just wow...
totally speechless, totally laughing my face off in pure shock and disbelief.

now I'm a guy that might sometimes overreact to constructive criticism, (like I perhaps did with Katara's remark) but that remark from Mariko totally alienates me... hardcore. not a good way for good rep to spread around. perhaps throwing in constructive criticism would have helped.

(I mean, if it's not the blind girl bender issue, what is it?) but still, that hurt bad enough that I actually find it funny...
*shrugs* well, like I said in my last post, this site is not worth me bringing in one of my other characters, especially if they're just gonna be ripped on without even getting any suggestions as to make them better. I will kudos Katara though, 'coz she at least told me some aspects that were no-nos, which I worked around to fix without completely mutilating the character...

As a result though, I think I'll stick with the game room. I'm not gonna lie... there's at least one good feature of the site (can't judge the others, haven't taken part.)

in all honesty, she talks like toph, acts like toph. But i think that isn't necessarily plagiarizing toph. Why because of one big difference, their fighting style. I would of said yes if it were me, but whatever, lol

accept she gets more emotional and her backround information is completly diferent, so in a way yes, but also, no.

plagarism is copying something word for word and calling it your own...
yeah, I'm aware that I took some idaes from her (the blindness, the bending ability)
but yeah, her personality is way different from Toph's as is her fighting style, and (obviously) appearance.

Well, her personality is like Tophs but not really. They both have that kind of innocent edge and dis-tolerance of Jerks to an extent.
And not to mention the awsomeness of both.
