Difficult Question! They all showed incredible and compareable feats of bending and/or combat-bending, but: - Two benders (Bumi and Toph) proclaim that they are the worlds best in their form of bending. - Two benders (Bumi and Iroh) are able to bend without needing to make any moves. - Five of them (Katara, Toph, Azula, Hama and Iroh) are able to use at least one subtype of their bending. - One of them (Katara) is able to use two subtypes of her bending. - One of them (Aang) is the avatar, who, even without the avatar state, is potentially the strongest bender of all four elements. 0 pros = Zuko 1 pro = Aang, Azula, Hama 2 pros = Bumi, Toph, Iroh, Katara I know that this math is flawed, but actually i don't know for sure what else to take into account. Personally i'd say that Bumi and Iroh are the best, but only because they have more experience than Toph and Katara. When it comes to shown feats, all four of them are pretty equal. Note that i'm talking about the best bender, NOT about the best fighter, cause it's not necessarily the same. Hmm, just rereading and thinking about this again, and Zuko was able to firebend his way out of the ice Katara had trapped him in the North Pole, making him able to firebend without any moves. And now, since DoBS, we have seen that he can redirect lighting, therefore making him able to one subtype of his bending. So I think that qualifies him for two pros. I'm aware that he might not have been able to redirect lightning at the point of your post, but I just thought that I would mention something about it. It just seemed like he was underrated a little. Also, if I recall, Hama was also able to use more subtypes of waterbending than just bloodbending. Taking water from the air and plants, and I believe she was able to plantbend as well, though there may not have been any visual evidence confirming such. I'm not sure. These just came to mind as I was rereading this thread. No offense meant to any of your observations, I agree with you that Bumi and Iroh are the best.

I voted for katara because she learned how to bend the water very fast and she even knows how to bend blood/ get water out of plants and so on.(and because water is my fav. element)

You are pretty right with what you said. By now Zuko would have two pros on my list and so would have Hama. I simply forgot about Zuko's icemelding without any move, i indeed wrote the post before i saw the eclipse episode and i forgot the plantbending at all. But then Katara would even have 3 pro's on the list (3 subtypes: healing, plantbending, bloodbending). As i already said, the math is flawed, so it's most probably Bumi or Iroh.

I vote for Toph, because Bumi himself said that there was a "Better" earthbender then him to teach Aang "one who can listen to the earth." And that was TOPH!

Yet i'm pretty certain Bumi didn't mean that the other earthbender was a better bender, but that he (she) will be a better earthbender "to teach" Aang. It's all about which part of the sentence you emphasize.

LOL Good point. So Bumi is a great figher; and Toph is an excellent teacher.

I think Bumi is the best Earthbender cause he can prob metal bend, and can bend with just his face. Iroh the best firebender because he can bend lightning and blue fire, and knows when to use it and how to control it. Katara the best waterbender because she can bodybend, heal, and is a very good combatant. Aang is the best airbender (not taking into account that there may not be any others left) because he is the youngest master airbender of all time

i agree on everything u said on the list me but i believe that master pakku is the best waterbender. im pretty sure he knows bloodbending but didnt use it on katara since he went easy on her.

Air- For air up until now we thought Aang to be the only one...so he would win by default...but if the spoiler i read on this site is correct then they maybe be other airbenders that might be better then Aang. Water- I would say Katara because she knows many sub-bendings. Earth- Although never shown im sure King Bumi could also bend metal but form what been shown so far Toph takes the Earth. Fire- Iroh hands down...He can use normal fire, blue fire, use lighting, redirect lighting (which he invented) and his nickname is Dragon Of The West.....you only get a name like that for kicking some serious ass. Just watch Day of black sun part 2. He made one of the guards shiver with fear and called him a one man army. Overall technically Aang should win since he can use all 4 forms but I think Iroh takes the crown for overall mastery of his fire bending.

I'm not sure if Paku ever thought of bloodbending..If he did he probably could, but i don't think so :/
