wait so when they tried to make human life, al's body and half of eds body were taken away?
are transmutation circles neccesary every time someone uses alchemy or only for certain situations?
also can anyone be an alchemist or is it just a select few people?

al's body got taken away and ed's leg when they attempted to bring their mom back. to get al's soul back, ed gave up his arm. transmutation circles are necessary for everyone except for a few people who've seen "the gate". ed did when he attached al's soul to the armor. it gets explained more later. and anyone can learn alchemy if they have books or a teacher, but only a few excel at it. hope that clears things up for you  and about the next season (don't read if not up to speed with current eps. could contain unintentional spoiler), my question is, what will it be callled since alchemy isn't possible on the other side of the gate? |

Believe me its great.The movie wasn't quite up to standard,but the series rocks.I think it was voted best anime ever once. hope the new season is as good as the first one.I wonder if it'll involve ed and al in world war II,like the end of the movie suggests. I believe you O.o well it was YOU who showed me it anyway xD |

i heard that by next year theres gonna be a new season. its in the making right now, i think. are you already an obsessive fan like i am? lolol as a matter of fact, i HAVE become an obsessive fan like you. im on episode 6. why exactly do they want to become state alchemists? how will that help them get back to normal? man, they need to add a little bit of humor to this....these are so morbid and depressing...........very dark. |

well they wanna be state alchemists because it'll help them research what they're looking for. more funding, access to libraries and other sources, etc. and yeah, some of it is very dark. and some of it is very emotional, funny, happy, and scary [barry the chopper  !!] but thats what makes it a great show, i guess. it really connected with me and its hard for me to stop thinking about it [obsessed, horribly, i know] |

It gets better and funnier once he joins the military.For example episode 37 totally hilarious,its just too funny.You'd hardly beleive that episode belonnged to the series if you've only seen the first few episodes.But yes it is very serious sometimes.
