it does seem more likely.
it'd be cute to have the indifferent character (Malak) be the one to fall for the other one.

but yeah, Reyson thinks Malak is cute, but doesn't really want to "make a move" on her, as he understands that she likes to be herself and by herself...
so eventually she's the one who comes to him.
