i think it's cuz the fire nation is always manipulating others to do things for them. you see how azula manipulated that guy who was the head of the dei li they can manipulate the stuff out of people. IT'S AMAZING!! lol

i hope u mean betrayed. but ba sing se wasnt the only big earth city. there was omashu and a couple others i believe. omashu fell due to king bumi's surrender

i ment betrayed, just couldn't remember the word (im dutch) i think it was luck for the fire nation, ba sing se with earthbenders, omashu just gave up, and the rest were just small village's

u no how the water tribes r pretty small villages and the earth kingdom...well...that was shown...and the air temples were invaded a LONG time ago so i guess it makes since but idk y nobody even seemed to stand a chance against them

I think that this similarity (firenation-Japan, earthkingdom-China) is more than coincidental, since their respective cultures and clothing are pretty much like traditional japanese (firnation) and chinese (earthkingdom) culture and clothing.

Guys, show's not about temperature of flame or density of soil or viscosity of water
It's about different nations, different mindsets, differnet attitudes
People of Fire have strong national idea that keeps them as solid united force, and strongest willpower
I doubt Fire Nation had all brilliant scientists and inventors - just look at the Machanist of the Earth Kingdom. But it's only Fire Nation that made it to the bigger scale industry.

yeah... the dai li are supposed to protect the cultural heritage of ba sing se.. but remember, long feng was originally going to double cross azula so he could rule ba sing se, but azula outsmarted him. so i don't the the dai li betrayed them, i just think it was a bad mistake.
