Well, (For me anyway), it's Good Friday. Time for chocolate and family and whatnot. Hooray!

Good Friday...
to me, it was just another day I think...
kinda ironic, since I'm the Christian of the two of us... [and I actually have an explanation as to why it's that way, but this isn't a religion thread. that old legend got deleted too...]

I actually only know it's Good Friday because we had a bunch of people over at our place for a dip in the pool and stuff...

I knew it was Good Friday because my friends were all out of school. ~Ty Lee~

My school has a two-week holiday around that time every year anyway, so I can't tell just by that.
Oh well, it's nice to have another holiday based on food, and some boring backstory that nobody even cares about any more.

Your words, not mine. I'm not part of a group that created a holiday only to have it debased into a chocolate grabbing excuse for children and supermarkets across the world. Come to think of it, Halloween and Thanksgiving aren't really factors of my life at all, either, and those are two more food-based holidays. Halloween, for me, generally just equals "stay up late and watch semi-scary movies". Thangsgiving... well, doesn't exactly exist in Australia.
But, back on the topic of Easter, yeah, like I said, I'm not part of any group that'd create a holiday, then be careless enough to let it become a chocolate based nightmare for parents only just recovering from buying all those presents at Christmas.

no thanksgiving? sucks for you all... that's one of the best days of the year. [eat food, and be thankful for it. yeh, that about sums up the "spirituality" of it.]
anyhoot, your remark is just an example of how feeble our logic as humans generally is, and that nothing we make lasts forever. give it a few centuries , and every bit of knowledge that we cherish will be warped and lost in a similar manner.
the human race generally pursues change. Those who don't get left behind. ~Azula~

Yeah. Kinda sucks for anyone who tries to make anything meaningful for the future. I mean, even on the off-chance that Jesus did exist, how do you think he'd take it knowing about all the incredibly different and seperate religions dedicated to worshipping him? And that's supposed to have been only two thousand years ago. A mere speck on history's page.
So yeah, the moral of public holidays is: Start out with good intentions, wind up being just another day off work. (Sometimes)
Oh well, that holiday is long past now... time to look forward to... you know, whatever comes next.
