I said Ni (which means you) bu (negates verbs so you're saying I "don't" or something is "not" this that or whatever verb you put after this) zhi dao (is a verb meaning "to know") zen me (question word indicating our English word "how") shuo (verb meaning "to talk" say, speak etc.) zhong wen(means "chinese") ma (add this to almost any sentence and it turns it into a question...this is why native speakers always seem to end their sentences in a sound...there's a bunch of these things that you put at the end of the sentence to change the meaning to past, present, question, uncertainty, etc.) So...to answer me back...you'd say:

"Shi(yes). Wo bu zhi dao zen me shuo zhong wen" Or yes, I don't know how to speak chinese.

I like teaching people what I learn. If you really do care I can pm you the characters so if you ever end up in china for some strange reason (or Taiwan, or Malaysia or something) you can write the phrase out too, and someone will try to speak english and help you.

Ah shoot...messed up. "zhi dao" means to know (a fact), "hui" means to know how to...so it really should be

wo bu hui zen me shuo zhong wen... ...oh well, in the process of learning.
