What if aang didn't have any kids?

but you never know maybe the child could be the the other bender like the mom's bending or he could not be a bender at all like sokka there is too many possibilities ( well there's only 3 but still)

Well the Airbenders might not stop existing, if there's more Airbenders, which we'll find out when more episodes of Book 3 air. Otherwise if Aang would get kids i'm almost sure they'll be Airbenders.

what if it comes out an firebender or a waterbender

Is there one trait for bending, or is there an airbender trait, waterbender trait, an earthbending trait, and a firebending trait? Let's say Aang and Katara had a kid.

waterbending trait:
Aang= RR
Katara= ww
Kids= Rw

airbending trait:
Aang= aa
Katara= RR
Kids= Ra

So if each type of bending is a different trait and different types of benders have kids together, the kids can pass the bending gene on but cannot be a bender. And I think bending is a recessive trait, otherwise your parents would have to be benders for you to be a bender. Sooooo if if worked this way, there is no hope for the airbenders unless they are interested in incest.

I don't see how it could be any other way. If Aang was aa and katara was ww for the same trait, I don't see how this would work unless certain elements are dominant over others. So let's say water is dominant over air:
Katara= BB
Aang= bb
Kid= Bb
So the kid is a water bender with the recessive air bender trait. Wow that doesn't make a lot of sense. If it was the other way around, there would be chance left for airbenders. But that's not the most logical way for the genetics to work. But then again, it's Avatar, where logic is defied often so there will probably be many little water and airbenders running around.

Then again, there's always the possibility that airbending is a dominant trait (I'm talking if each bending has its own trait). And if spirituality comes into the picture, then pretty much this whole thing is messed up. The creators said that all air-nomads are airbenders because of their low population and high spirituality. Maybe the dominant trait of having no bending ability died out? Grrrr this is sooooo confusing.

Zuko isn't his grandson. He's either his great-grandson or his great-great-grandson. I forgot. Anyway, those firebending genes could have come from anywhere.
