If they existed, they wouldn't have done that because the Air nomads didn't have an Army. There would be no need in their eyes.

yeah, i think all airnomads airbend. and if they couldn't it would be much like the water tribes. some would bend, and the masters taught the beginners, and if they couldn't, they led normal lives. even with earthbenders we see the same pattern.
