The Mourning of Mako (the voice of Iroh)

Here's a quote from the interview.

TZN: Were you aware of any health issues he was having at the end of season 2?

KONIETZKO: Towards the end, yeah. And then, we took our first vacation during the series, and when we came back, we got the news, so it was pretty sad. But, you know, if it matters, we had actually written that Uncle would not talk for the beginning of season 3, and that actually had nothing to do with Mako's situation. It was planned long before we knew that, so it just kind of worked out. And it gave us time to find someone to replace him, but it was just...it just happened that way. Coincidence.


Edit: The way I had this post before was a bit... irrational would be the best word. I edited it to be a bit more... respectable.

On a cruse ship I heard, but I'm probably mistaken. On a lighter note the new guy isn't doing so bad. I mean you could tell that something had changed, but it just sounds like he has a sore throat or something like that.

Wow, I didn't even notice a change in the voice. The new guy's really good. But now I won't look at iroh as the same person anymore.

if you listen closely during The Tales of Ba Sing Se, when Iroh is telling the boys who broke the window to deal with their actions or something, the person playing his voice is the same one who does his voice in season 3

Ahh, come on ppl, its just the voice person.

Its not like Iroh the characther died. A change in the voice is not that seriuse.

Ok, that he died out of the sudden like that might be sad, but it cant stop the show itself from being good, they havent really changed Iroh`s personality. I think that would be a lot more seriuse then a little change in the voice.

I watched an episode of this show I watch sometimes, Monk today. It brought a tear to my eye.

You know why?

Mako guest starred.

What I find slightly offending is that the last few posts are focusing on Mako as Iroh's voice, I was trying to focus on him as a human being.
