Sooooo... here's my first fanfic. Right now, I have no idea what I'm going to write about. I'm just making it up as I go along, literally. No pauses. I'm going to actually pretend I know what I'm doing XD. Wait! I need a title... no, I'm sure as heck not making a title.
I awoke this morning and I noticed my parents were acting very strange. Are they planning something? I thought, I mean, it's my special day, but I'm getting a little old for parties. Today, I turn sixteen. When we had breakfast together, they seemed very timid and nervous. I knew it! I thought, Finally, the revalation! "We are going to a feast tonight", my mother said. "And no objections, young lady", my father added. I went through the day wondering what they had up their sleeve. I must have bumped into twenty people today because I was daydreaming while I was walking through town. Ba Sing Se is crowded enough without the construction workers getting rid of the fire nation insignias on the buildings of the outer wall, not to mention the palace. Why can't they just leave it be until all of these tourists are gone? I thought. I went back home after my 'stroll around town'. My parents had apparently bought me a silk dress and hair ornament. It was the crane, the symbol of our family. "Thank you", I said. "It's your birthday! You're going to... a special feast", I could tell the uneasyness in my mother's voice. What did they get themselves into, or what are they planning for-no, I must have faith in them, I thought. We headed out after I spent forever trying to place the ornament in my hair correctly. I didn't want it to fall out, it looked expensive. "Stay together, everyone. This is a big crowd", my father said. We got closer, but it only made it harder to move. When we got inside, I was astounded by how huge the place was. Wow, they really went all out on this!, I thought. They had even reserved seats-a good portion of the table, too, actually. I was suprised when the Dai Lee came in. What do they want?, I wondered. With them, came the Earth Queen herself. Toph!, I thought. My parents greeted her. "Greetings, your high-", I began, but I was cut off. "You can call me Toph. You don't remem- oh yeah, you were only a shrimp back then. That was sixteen years ago, huh? Wow, does time sure fly. Anyways, go on, go on.", I didn't know what she meant by this, but after a few seconds, she becan tapping her foot. "You know, the whole 'your highness oh you're so wonderful blah blah blah' speech? Oh, forget it. It's too late now.", she said. This was the Toph I had heard from my parents about. Blunt. "So,why are you...", I paused. I'd better not ask. Let me say something that gives her a little pride. I want to be on her good side. "What do you need the Dai Lee for, I mean, you can surely take care of yourself, based on what I've heard", I said. "If it were my choice, they would have been outta' here a looong time ago. I can't stand them!", she replied. I'd better not inquire any further, if I get too far into these politics I'll be thought of as a traitor even, and I especially don't want to be on the queen's bad side! I laughed at this thought, and a few people looked at me strangely. Well, mostly just Toph and the Dai Lee. "So, do you know why I'm here?" I shook my head. She whispered in my ear, "Hope, you are the next avatar." The world darkened, and I fainted.
Well, that's it. Hope you liked it!
Edit: This is about the baby that was born in The Serpents Pass. I couldn't think of any other name or whatever. I'll think of one later and change the one here if I really want to.
