Can you believe it? I'm acutally writing a Zutara fanfic! I know Kataang will happen, and I want Kataang to happen, but right now I'm writing a Zutara fanfic. If you absolutely HATE Zutara, don't read this. Don't say you haven't been warned.
"What are you doing here?", asked Katara.
"I was just taking a walk. I'm still getting used to the altitude. It gets hard to breathe sometimes", Zuko replied.
"Well, can you just, continiue your walk? I want to be left alone", Katara said shakily.
"What's wrong?", Zuko asked.
"Nothing-can you just leave? I want to be left alone!", Katara said. She began to cry.
"Tell me. I've gone through alot, I think I, of all people, would understand whatever it is in your past that is bothering you.", Zuko paused. "Or the present".
"My mother. The war. Aang. My brother. Everyone!", she replied after a pause.
"If you're worried that we're going to fail-", Zuko was cut off.
"I have confidence in everyone. I just don't know if I have confidence in myself. Why did Sozin start this war, anyways?", she said.
"I've read up on my great grandfather's secret history, in the dragonbone caticombs. He wanted to 'share the firenation's wealth and happiness with the world'. And what a great job he did! The world hates us. They're terrified by us!", Zuko responded.
"He just wanted to feel important?! My life was ruined because someone was too proud of himself! I lost my mother...", Katara said.
"I know how you feel. When I was eight years old, my mother was banished. I don't know if she's alive or not. Let me tell you the whole story...
My father wanted to become firelord, and he convinced my grandfather, Azulon, to let him be heir to the throne instead of my uncle. He proposed a plan in which I would be killed, and my mother wouldn't let him. She made a plan in which I would be spared, and he became firelord. She was banished for treasonous speech that night. I didn't even get to say goodbye... I fell back asleep because I was so tired. If I had known...", Zuko paused. "Anyways... When I turned thirteen, I went into my father's War Room for the first time. They wanted to send a bunch of new recruits to attack the outer walls of Ba Sing Se. They would be the distraction, for they would surely be killed. I objected to this, and the old general in which I spoke out against challenged me to an Agni Kai, which is just a fight. I misunderstood and thought it would be the old general I was to fight. But since it was my father's war room, it was my father... of whom I was to fight. At the time of the Agni Kai, I realised this, and I kneeled to him, begging of forgiveness. He gave me this scar, and then he banished me for refusal to fight.", Zuko said.
"I'm sorry I was so... mean. You've gone through alot more than me, and I don't blame you for being so obsessed with-well, actually, yeah, I do", Katara laughed.
"Oh, well you're just so funny, aren't you?", Zuko started chasing her.
"Ah! Don't you dare! Haha! I have water!", Katara laughed. She waterbended at Zuko, soaking him.
"Grrrrrrr", Zuko said in annoyance.
"Hahahaha!", Katara laughed.
Zuko finally laughed. "If I'm not dry by the time we get to the temple, you are so dead!", he yelled back at her. "Race ya!"
"You're on!", she yelled back.
