To all of whom it may concern,
Many of you are wondering why I left the site. Some of you know only that it was because of personal reasons, while others no a little more detail. Well I’m writing this one, final message to explain the given situation so that you all are on the same page.
This past week has been extremely difficult for me. As most of you know, I am an Airman of the United States Air Force. It’s a big title and one that I am quite proud of at the young age of 17. However, with big titles come big responsibilities. My responsibility at this point in my young career, is to graduate high school. While I know that that’s everyone’s goal at this point in life, mine comes with a much heavier burden. You see, all Airmen must have their High School Diploma or at least their G.E.D (General Education Degree). It’s not an option, it’s a requirement. If I do not pass my senior year of High School, the USAF will kick me out with a dishonorable discharge. Without the USAF, I have no way of paying for college. So the answer is simple right? Just pass my senior year. Well here’s where it got tough for me. I’m already failing two classes just six weeks into my final year. And because I already messed up my grades my freshman, sophomore, and junior year; the school made a very blunt threat to me this week. They sent me a letter stating that if I fail even one class this semester, they will kick me out of school. By now you should be able to add this all up. If I’m out of school, I’m out of the Air Force, I’ll have no way into college, and I’ll be out of luck. I screwed up my early years of High School and it’s come back to bite me in force. It was a harsh, but necessary wake up call to me that right now I need to focus on school and to get through this last year.
That was reason number one. Reason number two is much, much more personal.
My older brother is a Private First Class in the United States Army. About a month or so ago, he volunteered himself to go to Iraq. He left for Dep. Prep. (Deployment Preparation) this past week. I said good-bye to him, hugged him, and then let him go, unsure if I’d ever see him again. He doesn’t officially ship out until this January. But I will not see him again because he will be involved in the preparations he must go through before he leaves. So telling him good-bye this past week was quite, quite hard. They might be the very last words I get to say to him. I thank him for his service, and downright bravery for putting his own name on that list. I wish him the best of luck, and a safe trip home where I and the rest of those who love him will be waiting.
As hard as that was, I also learned here recently that I was already on a similar list for the USAF. I’m going into the Air Force with the intention of joining the Special Operations group T.A.C.P (Tactical Air Control Party). What I did not know was that all USAF Spec. Ops. Units are in full deployment at this point. And it is set to remain that way until 2010 or 2011. Because I’m listed as a Spec. Ops. Recruit, my name has been put on a predetermined list to go overseas. Most likely Afghanistan. In short, as soon as my training is complete, my butt is on a plane headed for the war zone. Although this will not take place until next year, the fact remains that it WILL take place.
So there you go. Those are my reasons for leaving the site. I hope that you all understand that I just have too much to handle at this point in time, and many other things to focus on.
I will miss this site dearly, and even more so, the members and staff that kept, and are still, keeping it running. It has been a real treat to be such a recognized member here, and I’ll never forget the experience. Many do not know this, but this was the very first forum that I ever joined. And I don’t think I’ve ever spent more time on any one site, than right here on A10.
I’ll still be available on MSN so don’t be afraid to drop by now and then to say hi ok
For those of you who don’t have my address, just look up my email on MSN:

Again, a final thanks to all of you for making this an unforgettable place to visit. Good-bye my friends. It’s been fun
