nah, there's something called the MTC (Missionary Training center) that you go to for 4-8 weeks [depending on where you get sent] and they teach you what you need to know.
and feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like about it.

yeah, usually it's 19 for men and 21 for women. it's not a requirement of any kind, but rather, just encouraged.
