I've checked and double checked to make sure that there wasn't another topic like this. (and if my checking is flawed, then BLEH!!! ) So yeah, watcha guys think of Enegerybending? For me, it really added a cool aspect for Aang's solution to defeating Ozai. We knew that Aang was gonna do something from up his sleeve for the finale, but obviously the Energybending was foreshadowed when Aang met Mr. Lion Turtle. Um... Discussion ideas: Since Aang IS the last Airbender, it poses a concern of how long the Avatar cycle will last, because after the next Fire Avatar, then what? I think this problem can be solved obviously by Aang reproducing, hopefully that the offspring will be able to Airbend, and thus Airbending can be spread in the later years to come. With regards to Energybending, it's been rumored that maybe Aang can pass on Airbending to people via Energybending. That makes me wonder if those people that gained Airbending from Aang will be able to spread Airbending by reproducing. (Remember the other Theory topics like "Determining a Bender"? I think we all agreed on something like a combination of genetics and Spirituality) What other potential skills do you guys see with Energybending? I'm curious to see what other techniques Energybending has (if the ATLA creators will ever make another ATLA season, etc.). Maybe Energybenders can create "ki" blasts? Maybe people can transfer their spirit to another person through Energybending (sounds like a villain idea to me ). Aight! Commence the discussing!!!!

Wow, never thought of it that way, that aang can pass it over to other people, he can make a new air-nation!
Maybe with this energybending he can also bring back dead people alive? By touching their body or something?

By touching their body or something? I'm a little iffy on that, just because of the fact that the Spirit World exists in ATLA. People are usually sent to the Spirit World when they die in the 'real' world in ATLA. (Not too sure, but no harm assuming that). But then again, Aang did get 'revived' with the spiritual water from Katara, so reviving people with Energybending might work. Aight. It seems to me that Spirits in ATLA are quite... How do I say... Um... Very usable? lol They help an individual's bending prowess, is 'bendable' with Energybending, and under certain circumstances can go back and forth from the Spirit World to the real world (Iroh is limited, but the Avatars of the past are enjoying jumping back and forth ). A new thought just occurred: If revivals are possible with Energybending, especially to an ancient corpse, maybe it would require a lot of the bender's lifeforce/Spirit to be used and transferred to work. Thus rendering the bender tired and maybe even missing some of his life/Spirit. That might be some Energy you won't get back. Hmm....

hmmm.... you have got a really get point their... energybending... but it wont happing cuz we all know that their is no avatar season 4 What are you talking about?! It did happen. It happened in the last episode. Aang used it against Ozai and took Ozai's bending from him. Maybe there's another name for "Energybending," but until then, I'll just call it THAT because.... The Lion Turtle said that before the Avatar existed, benders weren't bending elements, but their energy within their body. (Sorry that I didn't pull out the direct quote, but he said something along the lines of that). So yeah. This thread is simply for discussion of what Aang did with his "Energybending" and what other possibilities Energybending can do and hope to accomplish (read starter post for this). I only said "what other techniques Energybending has (if the ATLA creators will ever make another ATLA season, etc.)" to help imagine the further possibilities of Energybending, especially in a "What If" scenario. And besides.... I think people have stopped saying "There won't be a season 4" because we all know it, and we know how big a bummer that is. But then again, you never know. edit: Boo ya! I just noticed that this marked my 666th post. lmao...

I think it should have been introduces a little earlier than it did... to me it just seemed like something to tack onto Aang to give him a "logical" way to defeat the Fire Lord, because we all know that otheriwse Ozai would have crushed Aang.
and I personally would then love the finale. new avatar FTW. ~Azula~

Maybe the creators were being careful with the concept of Energybending, so as to not turn ATLA's style borderline Dragonball Z. xD (Although I already mentioned "Ki Blast," so I guess I'm a victim!)

maybe... I never watched (and probably never will watch) DragonBallZ, so I wouldn't know.
I personally think that it should have been introduced earlier, or better yet, he shoulda just used raw bada** bending.
or better yet, died, and made way for a bada** water avatar. ~Azula~

energybending hmm... that probably wouldn't just be taking away someone elses bending, it could be taking energy from somebody or something like that.
And when you say "what would happen to the avatar cycle if there are no airbenders" what about the time when Roku told Aang that if he was killed in the avatar state, there would be no more avatars? I know Aang came back to life but think about it...

I like this theory. It actually makes quite a lot of sense. I guess we can all say that the forms of bending are linked to both spiritual as well as genetic factors, so for using energybending to give others the ability to use airbending makes sense. Maybe it might even be possible to give others several bending abilities, making them like the avatar. Besides, it seems that the lion turtle used energybending to give Aang the ability to energybend, which supports this theory.

It may make sense, but it dosen't seem to be ideal for Bryan and Nick....
If energybending enen will be used in Avatar, it'll probably be in one of the movies, but I doubt it very much.
