RPG ideas/discussion/whatever...

gonna give this thread a nudge.

I've found that a good RPG has the players posting at least 3-4 sentences, usually involves a ideas/chatter thread about it, and that's even if it's just a free RPG.

just one of a few things. if anyone is interested in starting another free RPG with meaning this time, please make it known.

i would be very interested.i realy think that ongoing rps like we did in the good ole days just arnt going to work. i do have an idea though

if we are going to try this here is what we need to do.

1.we need to decide on a set time everyday(maby for an hour?) to play that is going to be okay for as many people as possible and we need to play at that time no matter who is or isnt there(kinda harsh but i think it will work this way

2. If you cant show up, please try to tell someone so we dont sit around waiting for you for half an hour.
3. we will need players that will make fair charachters and play them fairly

4.(this is the biggie folks)...we will need a gm. I personaly would think myself(honestly, im not just being bragadotious.) or tera would make good gms(assuming you wont go to sanaki crazy tera )

i realy think if we try to do this we will need to make it like a meeting. If our time is 6 pm eastern (just an example) we should start at 6 sharp and let anyone who is late join in. if the gm cant make it, a pm should be sent around to those that would be participating. if a player cant make it, they should likewise pm the gm(haha)

tell me if you think this is a good plan. i personaly think it is the only way we can get an organized rp to work

hmm... I like these points for the most part... just my thoughts on them (below)

1. arranging time(s) works about as well as me getting something done on time (so in other words, almost never), but the least we can do is post our hours of availability. I only think that there will be a grand total of about 4 or 5 people tops, as former RPGers like ed, daxx, flame, rpz, and the likes have left the site. this might make things easier, and would likely make free RPGs a little more easy to manage. just my thoughts.

2. yes. if you're not gonna be here, try to let us know in advance. I can make a thread devoted to times and stuff if necessary.

3. This should be pretty easy, as most good RPGers know what a good character is. my hardest part will be trying to decide which character to use.

4. I'm fine either way, GM or not. the problem with the free RPG was that we eventually lost creativity as far as stories go. right now though I'm in the middle of a huge story, and will politely forewarn anyone that if making up a story falls into my hands, I will take a lot of stuff from my fic, The Order of the Avatar Slayer.
so yeah, that could go either way in my opinion.

5. yeah, I think I might make a bender battle 2 thread with some rules, like a minimum word length (a small paragraph or something) and such.

6. meetings and such... yeah, sounds like thread material.

mine are ususaly about 3:30 EASTERN-5:00 EASTERN
then 6:00ish-whenever eastern.

thats without taking homework into concederation. im assuming we wont play that entire time. i would suggest about an hour and a half our so.

I'm pretty much available anytime but that.
Mountain is 2 hours behind Eastern, and my classes start at 12:45 MST and end at either, 2, 3, or 4 MST (depends on the day.)

so with that 2 hour transition, that means I'm gone from 2:45 EST to around 6 EST. (I'm only on 'coz I ditch a lot, and that needs to be rectified.

so yeah, basically any time of the day except from 12:30--3/4ish Mountain time.

i dont think that will prevent people from coming to the site though. I think people come to this site now because they want to talk to the friends they made, not to raise thier post count.
