because of the abundance of characters in my fic, I decided to list who they are and a bit about them.
the number after each paragraph in parenthesis is their age.

Iresu Fenyk—the former queen of the Earth Kingdom. A sorrowful woman of a few words, she also follows Zeruda with unquestioning loyalty. From what she reveals, there is something else that still causes her to suffer. Nonetheless, she is loyal to her cause, and doesn’t seem changing. She is the younger sister of General Royota, and took the throne in his place because his leaderships skills "were for the military"(45)
Tenoko Dragmire—the former chief of the Water Tribes. A feisty and witty woman, she is tough and resilient, and was not pleased by the Order’s actions against her husband. She follows Zeruda with unquestioning loyalty, and is still a very influential but secretive figure. She is often drunk, which leads her a weird but hilarious attitude. (43)
Zeruda Mezkiel—the former lady of the Fire Nation. She is an outgoing woman but keeps her true identity secret. She is very blunt about everything and always has some sort of devious plan on her mind. She seems to be the leader of the Avatar Guard Secret Service. She was a beloved Fire Lady and raises her son Reyson with care.(44)
Royota Fenyk—a middle-aged former earth kingdom general. He is a powerful bender and a brilliant tactician before the Order came. this was what caused him to leave the military, yet he was honorably discharged. He is a gentle man with a kind spirit, and is liked by all, including Order Members that do not know of his connections with the avatar. he is Queen Iresu's older brother. (66)
Kimiko Nagishima—an exiled fire nation girl who was scarred by the Order for standing up to them in an Agni Kai. She is a very shy young woman, and often runs away scared when people talk to her. She is a rather talented firebender, but because of her recent troubles, she is afraid of practically everything, but will strike if frightened enough. (18)
Lehran Serenes—a young man who was left with his infant sister Altina, whom he carries on his back, and cares everything for. He is a descendant of the legendary Kai Serenes, and as such, he and his entire family are from a long line of very talented waterbenders. (20)
Altina Serenes—a young baby girl who is cared for by her older brother Lehran. She has been discovered to be a waterbender, even at her very young age, and, despite her not being able to do anything useful with her little techniques, to see a child of her age manipulating an element is always an interesting site (2)
Mulan Kumani—a young yet skilled airbender who is only 1-2 months away form delivering a baby. Her husband is part of the Order, and these two have claimed that they would meet on the field of battle. She disregards her own personal issues and puts The Avatar Guard before anything, except perhaps her child. (25)
Cheng Alesha—a former fire nation soldier in his early 20s who was moving up the ranks before the order took over. His knowledge of the Order’s military tactics and prisons makes him a valuable member. He tends to behave strangely around women, and this often makes him edgy, and people tend to make fun of him a lot. However, he’s still a nice guy (21)
Koara Lombardi—a master waterbender who is now in her much later years. She knows many of the darker bending moves, and is notorious for being a bloodbender, which gives her a dark reputation. In reality, she’s actually crazy and loves to do anything that puts her life in danger, and she been doing said crazy stunts since her early days, and has no regrets. Miraculously, she is not only alive and hale, but also in one piece. (93)
Taki Masahiro—a young Kyoshi warrior who is also a renowned Earth Rumble CLXXII champion. She is only ousted by Zakura, but is the legal champion because Zakura was banned for various reasons. She is a very fierce warrior, and will not hesitate to messily slaughter anyone who fights her. She’s very outgoing and also very attractive. She is especially dangerous because of her lust for blood and love of messy violence.(21)
Aiku Tadashi—a modest airbending master who is part of The Avatar Guard. He was the avatar’s airbending teacher, but he does not brag of his skills or deed. He fights for his friends and family. Although he seems weak just because he’s an airbender, he is not a man to underestimate. (31)
Zinjamyn Sakurai—an earthbending master who is usually considered the leader of The Avatar Guard. He was the avatar’s earthbending teacher, and is an easy-going man. He is tough and does not ever back down from a fight, but might try peace-talk instead when possible. (30)
Shinon Iwata—a quiet waterbending master who is part of The Avatar Guard. He was the avatar’s waterbending teacher, and is a man of few words. When he does speak, it is often sage advice. He seems to be rather fond of Alzar and she seems to return said feelings. (32)
Alzar Miyamoto—a blind firebending master who is the only woman in The Avatar Guard. She was the avatar’s firebending teacher, and is always barefoot and able to conceal her blindness with ease. She is a descendant of the legendary Fire Lady Sanaki. (29)
Lahka Karuha—The Water Tribe Avatar who preceded Zakura. He lived to be 115 years old and was Xin Shing’s first enemy because of his Avatar status. He often appears an offers Zakura wisdom, since she is, after all, an incarnation of him. (115)*
Ryuka Satoru—a non-bender who is incredibly skilled at making and using weapons. He taught The Avatar Guard each how to use a weapon, but does not go about bragging his skills. He is a very serious man who "does not have time for frivolousness" and sometimes can be very hostile when interrupted. (33)*
Zakura Ishiko—a relatively young master avatar who is very reckless and tends to act before she thinks. She is the daughter of part of the Order, but since she is the avatar (and her parents are not aware of this), she naturally joined The Avatar Guard. Few people know that she is the avatar, possibly from her indifferent nature towards this status. She is disliked by her parents because out of their 4 children, only she was a bender, and a very gifted one at that. Their eldest child, a son who was killed a few years prior to the story, was their favorite. Zakura, who was the 2nd child, in essence had become the next heir, but she was as against it as her parents, and their distaste for her caused her to just one day leave them. She hasn’t seen them since she was 16. (23)
Xin Shing Shigeru—the mastermind behind The Order. He is the one who is ultimately behind all of this, and it was him who was responsible for removing the former leaders of 3 Nations and setting friends of his own on their thrones. He is now seeking the avatar and will not stop until the two of them have fought to the death. (50)
Ju Long Kumani—a decent swordsman and earthbender, and the husband of Mulan. He had been convinced beforehand to join The Order, and because of his wife’s stance against it, the two have broken up, but they have vowed to see each other on the battlefield. (27)*
Tu-Sung Lyautey—the man who convinced Ju Long to join The Order long ago. Very little is known about him, except that he has a wife name Zhin, who is also very high-ranking in The Order. They have other connections everywhere, and therefore make dangerous opponents. (34)
Zhin Lyautey—a woman who seems to be a very influential member of The Order, and seems to have lots of friends in high places. Very little is known about her except that her husband’s name is Tu-Sung, and that she is notoriously seductive and dangerous. (35)
Meili Meisha—a very powerful earthbender who was born completely blind, partially deaf, and has some trouble speaking because of an attack on her mother during her development before birth. She’s a blunt and very stubborn young woman, but has a soft spot for her friends. (17)
Sanaki Foxx—yet another blind firebender, as she too is a descendant of a legendary Fire Lady who lived long ago, and she was named after her as well. Blindness was and is a common trait amongst this Fire Lady’s descendants, and so to see a blind firebending master in this day and age was not a rare thing. She’s a happy, friendly young lady who joins the Avatar Guard, but isn’t considered an official part of the group yet. (17)
Maric Dragmire—a young, gifted waterbender who meets The Avatar Guard with his younger twin sister, Malak. He is very protective of his sister, but unlike her, he seems to have a distrust for the avatar, and seems to be leaning towards joining The Order instead. (14)*
Orzon Zhaoka—the Fire Lord who was set up by Xin Shing once he and The Order took over. He is a man who can pull a convincing bluff, and his firebending prowess naturally makes him very dangerous. He is the Order’s greatest firebender. Ironically, he does not seem as evil at heart as other people such as Xin Shing or Ayumi. (51)
Vigo Zakatau—a young earthbending master who meets up with The Avatar Guard in Gaoling, but disappears shortly afterwards. he later appears at their headquarters, requesting to join them. he is unable to speak, and generally has a blunt and stony approach to people(16)
Zao Lin Ishiko—the Earth Queen who was set up by Xin Shing once he and The Order took over. She is a very fancy woman who turns her nose at things she deems “2nd-class”. She is Zakura’s mother, but like her father, grew a distaste for the girl for various reasons. They are not aware that Zakura is the avatar. (48)
Ayumi Zhaoka—the Fire Lady who was set up by Xin Shing once he and The Order took over. A fierce and relentless woman who shows no mercy, Ayumi is feared and respected by friend and foe alike. Luckily, it is Orzon who does most of the talking. (49)
Malak Dragmire—a young, gifted waterbender who meets the Avatar Guard with her older twin brother, Maric. She doesn’t like how protective her brother is of her, and unlike him, she would trust the avatar guard with her life, and therefore favors the Avatar Guard (14)
Michiko Yao—the Water Chief who was set up by Xin Shing once he and The Order had taken over. A mysterious woman who keeps her objectives completely to herself, hre alignment is sometimes and often questioned. Nonetheless, she claims to currently pledge loyalty to The Order (47)
Katara Altina II—a young, absurdly powerful firebender who was named after her waterbender mother, who was in turn named after a legendary waterbender who had lived 1200 years ago. She was a strong daddy’s girl (possibly because he was a firebender) before his death, and still gets sensitive about the subject when it’s brought up. She is incredibly powerful, and contains enough raw energy to annihilate an entire city. However, she lacks the control needed to harness this power, so it often hurts her. She is targeted by The Order because of her power, and actually does end up joining them. (15)
Zhang Ishiko—The Earth King who was set up by Xin Shing once he and The Order took over. Like his wife, he a very fancy man who shuns those of a lower class than him. He is Zakura’s father, but like her mother, grew a distaste for the girl for various reasons. They are not aware that Zakura is the avatar. (50)
Ling Samaso—the Head Monk of the Northern Air Temple. Like most airbenders, he is allies with The Avatar Guard, and although the airbenders have chosen to stay out of most of the actual fighting, Ling is still willing to lend The Avatar Guard some of their resources. (58)
Fukuda Yao—the Water Chief who was set up by Xin Shing once he and The Order took over. A dark-natured man, his intentions seem to be almost independent of the others, as if he and his wife were on their own side. Nonetheless, they currently pledge loyalty to The Order. (49)
Feng Shogo—the man who defeated Kimiko in an Agni Kai while she was in prison. He is an arrogant and provocative man, and is not afraid to pick a fight with whoever he pleases when he pleases. Though he mostly appears as a guard, he is also sometimes stationed elsewhere. (30)*
Yang Shigeru—the wife of Xin Shing, very little is known about who she is or what exactly she does. Those who have met her says she is cruel as well, almost enough to match with Ayumi, but there' is no way to prove it, as she is almost never seen anymore. Nonetheless, she is still out there somewhere. (49)
Reyson Mezkiel—a mysterious boy who almost always seems to be with Zeruda. According to both of them, he is her son, and by the way he acts, it is logical (and it true). He's generally a 'motherly' figure because of the way his mother Zeruda raised him, but is also a strong firebender. (16)
The Dark Warrior—an enigmatic and very powerful firebender thought to have been killed several years ago. very little is known about him except that he recently reappeared. however, he seems like a different person, as if The Dark Warrior is simply an alter-ego of one of the existing characters...
