They don't have one. Neither do earthbenders (NO, it's not the earth). But I agree with their bending being at it's best in a certain season.

air benders probably get their energy from life it self....or the the oxygen from plants and stuff That could make sense... They get their power from organic material, while Earthbenders get it from mineral material... Or, just the sky and the ground, but I don't think it will come up in the show, so we'll never know for sure. |

This is a interesting topic. For the earth benders, it would be the ground. A earth bender connects to the earth and draws her energy to power himself. The is called rooting, were a person imagines roots going down from his feet and into the earth. Another reason for the strong stances. A earth bender is vulnerable in the air, so he must stay on the ground at all times. Thats for all the stand still like a rock. For air benders, even I'm quite not sure. We have never seen real sir bending before. All we see is Aang, but he is doing air bending out of pure nature for being the avatar. So I'm lost.
