I was wondering, the fire nation had conquered almost the whole world
but when you look on the ATLA map the fire nation is only a tiny island compared to the earth kingdom. Does anybody know how this is possible?

The Fire Nation has the best Technologie in ATLA and Firebender soldiers are very strong! But still it is weird

ugg.. sozens comit drastically uped the firebending power of the firebeding militia and the firelord himself allowing him to completely destroy the air temples... first the western... cause thats the closest to firenation teritory

For a nation that shows no mercy I think it is kind of funny that they banish all of theire traitors, and imprison all of the opposing armies at least recently. Can you imagine the cost to upkeep all those special prisons for the different benders. ^^
I think it is similar to the japanese invasion of china. all though china is much larger it still fell because of inferior technology, and a lack of unity. Keep in mind that the earth kingsom had two kings one in Omashu, and on in Ba Singse. Also the king in Ba Singse didn't even know that there was a war. All his army did was defend the walls to keep the fire nation from getting in. the only help they gave to the outside was housing refugees.

All they do is take over the nations capital,once you've done that the rest of the nation will bow down to you. like with ba sing se.

the fire nation is winning this war because the earth kingdom is too bitchy to actually kill them... that's why their militia keeps growing,and their technology keeps getting better

they were token by suprise and the air nomads were already defeated with the comet, and fire has suprior technology, and the earth kingdom fell because they were traited by the day li or however you spell it...
