I don't know why, but I strongly believe Tenzin's kids with run the Air Temples once they become Master Air Benders from the Air Acolytes.

Jinora and her family will run the Western Air Temple.
Ikki and her family will run the Eastern Air Temple.
Meelo and his family will run the Southern Air Temple.
Rohan and his family will run the Northern Air Temple.
