good for you. I'd still choose my place over yours.
though that 2nd paragraph almost gave off the impression of a superiority complex...

Yeah, it probably did. I'm so sick and tired of idiots, imbeciles, fools and stereotypical teenagers that I have indeed come to look down on them as a subrace of human life. Such people have become intolerable, and it is a very good thing I rarely have to interact with such people, or I'm sure I would have lashed out at some of them...
I did used to have a serious anger problem... this was generally sedated once I reached the age of seven at which I gained clarity and maturity, enough so to fully understand things. Still, it's always there. Controlled when I want it to be... terrible when I don't. I recall an incident when I was 6 1/2 where my best friend at the time had pushed me too far... it is not an incident that I am proud of. Still, therein lies the cause for my joy at the fact that I only have to deal with such people when I choose to.
But yes, in closing, I do feel I am superior to such people, if only because I at least maintain an average level of common decency. I do not see myself as being greater than others. I merely see certain people as being less. More of a reverse inferiority complex if you think about it...

the problem with arrogant people is that they're insecure, and thus they have to make themselves feel better about themselves but trying to make themselves look better than everyone else (wow, I used the word "themselves" like 3 times in that one sentence).
The best way for a person to prove that they are better than someone else... otherwise they're just people with insecurities trying to cover them up.
I might have religion and have some faith, but I have zero belief in anyone claiming that they're "better" than someone else unless they prove it somehow. Generally, most smart people should think the same thing. What sort of pathetic loser would believe someone was awesome just ebcause that person said they were and liked to think they were?
those are the inferior people of the world. it's much like the respect thing. "better-ness" is earned, not declared.

I tend to think of "betterness" as a scale. I'm not going to comment on my place in it, but my only real point is that certain people are proven to be far below average. Anyone who can't put their brains to any real use just isn't worth my time and effort.
This is usually determined by two things: Actions and intentions. I'd elaborate, but you should be able to figure the rest out yourself...

most people are far below average. if it were a statistical graph, it would be heavy towards the "low" side for most people.
and of course... stupid ideas come from stupid people, and stupid people do/say stupid things. that was a given ;D

So yeah, like I said, not really considering myself superior (especially when it comes to the whole "having a shred of humanity" things...), but considering the ignorant and the foolish as , simply put, human offal.

but considering pother people as inferior is putting yourself above them regardless of which way you look at it.
it reminds me of an old joke I once heard. "those who think they are so smart annoy those of us who really are."
regardless, I just let God and society place me where I really am, for all in all, it doesn't matter what YOU think of yourself, but what everyone else in society [that matters] does.

Really? Because the way I see it, that would be a very stupid thing to do. You are not what other people see you as being. You are what you are. It's a fairly simple concept. It only matters what others think of me insomuch as it helps me get where I want to be. If being viewed as kind and helpful prevents me from being harrassed, it is in my best interests to keep such views of myself going. That does not mean I actually am kind and helpful. For instance, I often pretend that human moral codes are my own, whereas really, I have my own, that differ greatly from the norm on several key points. The point is that it doesn't amtter how others view you, because they don't matter in the slightest. Just like you don't matter in the slightest when you beleive someone is something. That doesn't mean that's what they are. It also doesn't matter what you think you are, because that wont change what you are. It's possible to change, of course, but merely thinking you're something else doesn't change anything. You'll be hard pressed to find anything as complex and useless as a thought.

what people think of you matters to a certain extent, because that determines how they will treat you. Regardless, yes, what people think does not matter. I personally could care less.
there are certain impressions that I do give off to people so that I will be treated a certain way, but all in all, I could care less what they think.
all in all though, just because you think you are something doesn't mean you are.

Like I said. Hard-pressed to find something as complex and useless as a thought.
I happen to be lucky. Or unlucky, depending on your point of view...
My memories are all out-of-body. I see myself, things I've done, and people nearby all from an outside perspective. This allows me to see what others see of me, yet still know my intentions at the time. Helps more than you'd think, though it rather limits the emotional capacity of my memories...
I'd tell you more about how I got to know more about my inner levels of thought, but as it took a while to do, it'll take longer to explain.

I understand that completely, because that's how I am.
I remember what people see/think of me, but I'm good at keeping my true intentions a secret, in case they get used against me.
That's how I roll. I always analyze a situation and/or a person to see if there is anything about it[them] that I can use for my advantage. And then of course, I act on it.

I do sometimes wish I was more... normal. Even if only for a little while... Sometimes it's a pain not being able to properly feel or display emotion. I also have a serious problem with apologising. I literally can't do it if I feel I've done nothing wrong, and if I'm told to, I will refuse, because I feel it should mean something, and an ordered apology is as empty as anything can get.

I've never wished I was any different than who I am right now. I never had a good reason to.
for me, displaying emotion comes rather easily, but I generally like to keep it hidden, because I generally figure that my emotions are my own business unless I make actions that indicate otherwise. I never say anything just to humor anyone, and generally, if I have to explain something to someone more than once, I generally just drop the subject, because I don't feel like wasting my time.
