nomads are travelers with no permanent residence if I recall correctly. Therefore, they couldn't have lived only at the temples.

We know too little about air benders. I want to know more. So i think that i must wait book 4. maybe we can learn about them in tis book.

I'd say the fire nation would be the safest place for Airbenders to live...... After all they knew the Fire nation would attack.... (Watch, "The Storm")
So I'm sure they've hidden really well either way.

Yes, the Air Temple's are the only place they "Lived". But the majority of them travel the rest of the Air Nation, and the world. Settling in some places for a short time, then moving on.
They are Nomads after all, not all of them were Monks.

That's right, but the only place they really lived was at the Air Temples.
It was a place of resting for most of them, both physical and spiritual.

i thought air nomads taught and raised at the temples....i could be wrong....but i would assume that they didn't just live at the temples, they traveled across the world
