Ch. 18

Let me just tell you, the stream is NOT at all like a bath tub. It’s open and dirty. I don’t know how you could stay clean by bathing in a stream. I ended up having to bend four walls of earth around me so I coud feel safe.

When that little venture was over I started to return to camp. I wasn’t very happy, because I had the same clothes. They stunk.

“How was your bath?” Sokka asked.

“Horrible” I answered.

“It’s not that bad” Katara said protectively.

“Yeah it is” Toph answered.

“I found some banana’s” Aang said as he entered from the forest.

“Aang, honey, those are mangos” Katara said.

“Ohh” he said looking down for a second. “I found some mangos” he said.

“When are you going to find some meat?” Sokka asked.

“Well I have nothing to hunt with.” he said looking over to the side, a little embarrassed.

“I’ll go look for meat!” I said. I didn’t want to eat like a peasant. Mangos alone was peasant food. And it looked like he only had four of them. There were five of us. “I’m off” I said going into the forest. Believe it or not, I used to go hunting all the time in the woods near the palace. I went deep into the woods. Once I found a desirable place I stood there and waited. Something moved, I shot a small amount of lightning at it.

A rabbit-duck came out from behind the bush. I had hit it strait in the heart. It fell over. I brought it back to camp(with some difficulty. I had traveled far into the forest.) when I got back, it was dusk.

“Finally” Sokka said.

“Shut-up” I said. “It’s all I could find.” Katara took it from me and started to cook it over the fire. “Come on. Can’t you go any faster?” sokka and I said at the same time.

“Like father like daughter.” Toph said.

“yeah, it’s almost unbearable” katara stated as she cooked the meat.

“Well hey, I’m hungry” we both said at the same time. “Stop that” we said again. We were both silent for a while. I glaired at him, Then said, “just hurry up.”

“It’ll be done soon” she said.

“Yeah, yeah” I said back.

“Sokka you wanna come on a walk with me?” Toph asked.

“well not right now toph, I want to eat right now.” he said.

“Alright” she said sitting back. Disappointed.
"I’ll go on a walk.” Aang said. He’s trying to make her feel better. He got his mothers genes.

“That’s okay” Toph said. “I’m just going to go train, call me when the food’s ready” she said, then disappeared into the woods. The fumes were almost unbearably good.

“I think I may go watch and train to.” I said.

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea” sokka started to say, but I didn’t listen to him. I had to become a good earth bender somehow.

short and pretty uneventful


I followed the path toph had cut through the trees until I sank into the ground.

“Why are you following me?” she asked without turning around.

“How did you know I was following you?” I asked.

“That’s not the question.” she said, “why are you following me?” she asked once more.

“I thought it would be fun to train.” I said.

“Your lying” she said sounding annoyed.

“Okay, maybe not fun, but at least enriching.” I said.

“Look, I just want to be alone for now.” she said.

“You wanted to walk with sokka a moment ago.” I said, sounding a little hurt, “I just figured you’d want company from the next best thing.”

“Well, then maybe you should stop thinking.” she said, turned around and started to walk away.

“hey, aren’t you going to get me out of this hole?” I yelled at her.

“Well, I wasn’t planning on it.” she said.

“I swear if you don’t get me out of this hole--” she cut me off.

“you’ll what?” she asked, turning around.

“I’ll call Katara” I said.

“Do you think I care about what katara thinks?” she asked.

“Well, not particularly, but you might care what Sokka thinks.” I said.

She turned around and bent down next to me. It was as if she was looking at me, but I knew she was blind.

“Look, don’t mess with me, you’d regret it”

“Why? Because your so much better then me?” I asked.

“yes” she answered.

“I challenge you to an Agni kai” I said.

“Fine, after diner” she said letting me out of the hole and going her way into the forest. She was still going to train. I went back to camp. I guess I would just have to deal with the fantastic smell of the meat. there was one thin for certain, I was going to win it. I knew both Fire and Earth(partially).




yeah i hope i spelled Agni kai right. though i don't think i did. who will win? i'll get that part up soon. (sorry theres no lame joke, he was fired yesterday)

When I got back to camp I was met by the cheery smiles of Katara and Aang. It was enough to snap something in my brain.

“STOP SMILING AT ME” I yelled, the fire flared up. Usually I’m more controlled then this, there was just something about Toph that made me angry.

“What’s wrong?” katara asked jumping up at the fire flaring.

“Did she burn the meat?” Sokka asked.

“No, actually she cooked it.” Aang answered looking at it.

“Finally food!” sokka said.

“What’s wrong, Ozana?” katara asked.

“hehe” I started uneasily, “well I sorta just challenged Toph to an Agni Kai” I waited for Katara to start yelling at me. She looked sort of confused. “Do you know what an Agni kai is?” I asked.

“Hold on.” she said to me.

“I will not hold on I am…..” I trailed off, she wasn’t listening. She sneezed.

“Sorry, what were you saying?” she asked.

“You cut me off to sneeze?” I asked.

“Um yeah, Katara, could you cut the meat?” Sokka asked.

“Yes, I’m sorry” she said ignoring sokka, “Aang could you get Toph, please.” she asked.

“Sure mom.” he said.

“Cut the meat, I’m starving to death” sokka said melodramatically.

“Hold on sokka” katara said to him, “look Ozana you need to unchallenged toph to that Agni kai” she said turning to me and being serious.

“No!” I said, standing up, the fire flared up and I burnt the meat.

“The meat!” sokka yelled.

“We’re back!” Aang said cheerily.

“Let’s fight now” I said to Toph.

“Fine, the faster it will be for me to beat you.” she took a fighting stance. I flared up the fire on purpose and took a fighting stance also.

I shot a flame at her, she dodged it with ease. I sunk into the ground.

“see I won.” she said. I started to melt the ground beneath me.

“That was a cheap move.” I said, then I bent the lava off of me. “to bad it’s the last one you’ll ever make.” I was about to end her, when Katara grabbed my hand.

“That’s enough” she yelled, “I WILL NOT LET YOU DESTROY YOURSELVES.” She yelled. Then she trapped us both in some ice. She regained her composure. “I think it would be best if you two stopped training for a while.” she said.

“Well I don’t know about not training” I said after a moment of silence, “But I could try harder not to piss you off.” a small smile crept to my lips. I had done what I had set out to do. I had made myself look human. I had made myself look like I made mistakes. I was winning their trust, even though it didn’t seem like it now, they would trust me later. They were going to lead themselves into destruction.



yeah the same old Ozana thoughts. will she see the era of her ways? will she learn why fire seemed like such an enemy? all these questions will be answeres in due time.

she's azula's daughter who just got out of the palace. of course she's going to have evil on her mind(not to sound rude) of course to her it is spreading goodness to the world. any way yes zuko will come into the series it's just to soon. i on't quite know about iroh though. any way i think the next instalment i make will be an Azula POV.

All good additions, I especially liked the Azula-esque thinking of Ozana.

Yeah, the story so far is really cool. Sorry I missed the last ones, my entire streets internet went down for the day.
