It's not entirely only about what you say, but also what you imply. I generally try to be very clear with the things that I say so that I don't accidentally imply something that I don't want implied.
but telling someone to "think of them as the ultimate member" and then tries to say stuff about themselves to make themselves look good, might be giving off the wrong message to some people.
arrogant much?

Nope. Just the way you should think of me. It'll make everything run much smoother. That's generally a goal of mine. Smooth running. It's the way everything should be. Besides, I meant from a site-owners point of view, or a neutral point of view. If you want me to actually tell you how to view me personally, then you're out of luck. Besides, it's not like knowing the first layer of my net-profile is important to... you know, anyone. For instance, arrogance and overconfidence are traits particular only to this layer. Shyness, realisticality and an appropriate sense of smallness are among the traits of the second layer.
But, nothing about me matters in the long run.
And, in the really long run, we're both dead, and none of it matters anyway, because... you know, dead. I don't expect anyone to care about what my mind was once I'm a rotting corpse. I merely try to help. And if people try to understand, I do my best to help them.

ah, the eternal "what happens after death" question... but that's a different topic. And there were various other points made that got me to thinking. thanks

I never asked a question about that. I made a statement. Feel free to quote it.
I am yet to come across any other point of view that I am willing to back up, mostly due to the ridicularity of some of the claims.
Now, if you want to dig really deep into my mind, you'll probably find I'm incredibly selfish. Even if I never act in a way that could lable me as such.
See, my actions always benefit me in some way. The reason I hate conflict? It personally annoys me. The reason I don't just act selfish outright? Because that would cause conflict, and annoy me further. I go out of my way to help people to reap the rewards doing so brings.
And then, on the other hand, there's the altruistic side of me that feels that self-sacrifice for others is for the good of everyone. These deeper levels of my mind can get very confusing, especialyl when they overlap on certain issues...
Which is why I have so many different persona. It allows me to be whatever the situation calls for.
I am still trying to figure out who I am on my deepest level... what makes me tick. What really drives me to do waht I do...
But of course, such enlightenment cannot be reached so easily. I'd need to perform a study on myself... it could take decades.

generally, the more outwardly blunt a person is, the more complex they are inside.
and of course, learning just exactly WHO a person is can only be achieved by the person him/herself.
Me, I'll back up a point of view pretty much only if it's got things that I agree with. Otherwise, it generally means little or nothingt o me, and is generally kept in the joke section of my mind.

some people are definitely more complex than others.
The difference is, is that some people are worth finding out more about, while others are better off just taking what you know about them and using that.

Well, that depends. Anyone you expect to have more than one conversation with is worth profiling. Unless you find it hard to do so, in which case, don't waste your time.

precisely. some people try to make themselves complex, when in reality, people just tack a label or two on them and then stop caring.

Unless that person is me. I never label. I profile. Helps to be insightful on the nature of their actions and speech... Then, you can almost predict their every move after a mere few hours of conversing with them.

perhaps it's just a different choice of wording.
me, I'm always careful to observe what people do and how they act, so I can use it to my advantage an win every time.

Label is an external, singular thing. A profile is going further to discover who the person is... who they are.

meh, just more definitions.
I think here in the states people generally use various words to mean the same thing. I mean, it's English... of course it's ridiculous.

Well, people as a whole need to pay more attention to the language they're using, and the thing's they're saying. Things like that have been ticking me off since I was 8...

well not everyone thinks the same way as you [good thing too... I'd hate to be a carbon copy of someone].
as for me, I'm fully aware of what I say. what other meanings people have created for the terms, I personally could care less. If someone has a question about what I meant, I'll answer 'em, and usually taunt them in the process.
