i thought bout this but there is a theroy tht ty lee is an air bender, if thts true than maybe the sub thing is chi blocking, it fits the peaceful way of an air bender and is fast, like air

i think air is even too much i mean you cant find earth,water,metal or other every where but air is everywhere i think is an advantage and also if you control air pretty good that means you re like alomost invincible you can dodge stuff, and if there is no O2 there is no fire thats all of the advantages in my opinion  |

Bear in mind all Air Nomads (form what i read)are the only nation that all the people are benders.(How they where over ran with that many people i`ll never know)
Air may not have a sub bending.Air nomads themselves do not control air but manipulate it.

well, considering how plants get most of their mass from the air, being able to control plants would be a thought.
Oh, and water might be able to control them too, kinda like the whole magma thing with earth and fire.
just a thought.

I think possibly control of the weather, which could actually just be a sub-bending of being the avater mixing the elements together to make a weather change on a grand stage.

So far, no sub bending for air has been discovered. Bending clouds is water bending, tornado's is just a airbending attack, not a sub bend, Sound wouldn't work either because sound is an entirely different thing then air. Sound is just an invisible force that when it hits our ears, it cause sparks. The sparks send a message to the brain which then produces sound.
