Hmm....I don't think airbenders would have such a power. If timebending could happen, only Avatars would have such a power, not based on any element, but based on spirit powers deriving from the spirit world and that whole "cosmic energy" mumbo jumbo. xD exactly what I was gonna say, well it wouldnt just be plain air nomads who could time bend,it could only be a powerful avatar

!Warning! to some the following will possibly be a very boring scientific/philosophical comment.
Some of you might have said that time is an illusion. This it not exactly true. Time as we see it is an illusion, but it most definitely exists. like the three dimensions of space we know, time is also a kind of dimension, but a little different from the dimensions of space (I'm not going to explain that, mainly because I don't really understand it myself). We as humans use time as a medium to look at the universe. to view space we simply see the positions of objects compared to each other, however too look at time we see a bunch of different sets of space. This is the main reason for our inability to view time as it actually is, which makes it as confusing as it is.
There are many theories about time travel. One of them is that someone would travel back through time, change an event and by doing so changed the future. The main problem with this theory is that if that someone really did change the future, that someone would not have come back to the past (or at least not like he did the first time) which changes the change again and again an infinite times. Some say that every one of these changes would create a new alternate universe (a universe in which a certain event went differently and because of that that universe became different from ours). First of all, the alternate universe theory is about different outcomes to the same events independent of the other universes, there's simply a chance that something happens, in one universe it did, in the other it didn't. second of all, in this situation it would mean that the "creation" of that universe would start at the moment that person travels back through time, which doesn't make sense since that moment is after the person's arrival. third of all, all reliable theories in physics suggest going back in time is impossible.
However, if someone in the avatar world would have the power to travel back and forth through time I do think it would most likely be a spirit and it would be very powerful (too powerful to my taste).
I do think that a possible way of timebending or something could be being able to slow down time or speed it up (meaning being able to slow down or speed up the movement of a specific object), which is in a way already possible for all objects (for more information on that search for "the time paradox" on the internet or something).
