Yes I believe there are going to be Air Nomads. I think so because if you think the next episode is the WESTERN AIR TEMPLE. Not only will they hide there but I believe since they didn't go to that temple at all during there journeys there will be some Air Nomads living there, hiding in the temple.
But also i have a question and am too lazy to go to different section. Do you think there will be another book? I don't think so because what will it be book 4: Air when he already knows air bending. If they were going to have a book 4 i think they would have made book 3 called The Battle or something besides firebending since he hasn't learned it yet and there is one more book left. But if anything i believe that they will countinue avatar but without all the characters. Like restart with different characters which next the avatar will become a waterbender. So i think they may thred it through. Like have Aang and Katari (sorry for spelling) have a child that has waterbending skills and is the next avatar. So they will kind of thred it all together but start new. I do not think at all that they will just stop with avatar after all of the hits they got. So hoping for another season!

I think there are some other air benders out there, but Aang doesn't know about them... so in his perspective he "is the last airbender"

I think that there should be more airbenders because the next avatar would not be able to airbend and also I read some where that they might change the show's name to Avatar : One of the last few airbenders.

I hope so too, that he isn't the last one. Maybe the air nomads are prisoners somewhere in the fire kingdom.

There has to be since it'd be like impossible for the fire nation to atack each and every air temple simutaneously and not a single person esacping there. Note that Aang left before the invasion so he doesn't count as escaping. They are probally in hiding or not using their bending skills.

I think not. If not the tittle wouldn't be "Avatar, The LAST air bender". I think if Aang can own all of the airbenders than the fire Nation didn't kill them all. There are probably some airbenders hiding but not giving off there identity. |

Even if the genocide really did wipe out all of the nomads, I think Aang is still credible with representing the air nation, therefore justifying the existence of the Avatar.

i think that when aang goes to the western air temple there will be air benders there.

Do you think that there are more Airbenders then Aang? I think that Aang isn't the last airbender bender, because the Avatar can't exist if there is a Nation missing. Say here what you think about this. when aang was born, the Air Nomads still existed, but he ran away because he heard that Monk Gyatso was going to send him somewhere he didnt want to go. So he ran away. And somewhere along the line, he entered the avatar state, and encased himself in an iceberg. If you notice, when Katara and Sokka first find him, he is encased in the iceberg, his arrows are still glowing due to the fact that he is still in the avatar state |

Without useing germ warfare that only attacks airbenders (like if a virus that only kills airbenders but does not kill other benders), I think it is impossible to kill all airbenders.
I think that when they first attack, a few airbenders got on the gliders and flew to other airbenders temples and told them. Than most of them flew off and hid.
