Can waterbenders bend water with their feet?

Again, it is only the style of waterbending that the benders at the poles that is based of of tai chi, not waterbending itself. Katara's bending style is less strict, she often creates new moves and ways to utilize her ability. I think that any bender can bend with any part of their body, but you don't see people bending by flaring their nostrils or wiggling their toes because it isn't the best way to utilize their bending.

We see earthbenders and firebenders often using their feet, probably because they have found that it is a good way to use their bending. The waterbenders probably found that using their feet was not a good way to waterbend.

I don't think that the people in the world of avatar have any knowledge of kung fu and practice those specific types of kung fu to bend, but the style that the waterbenders use to waterbend is what we call tai chi, if you get what I'm saying "/

It is my opinion that they just did that to torture them and give themselves extra insurence that they could not move in their cell or escape it seemed to have more of a phsycological downside than a spiritual or physical one

i think they should because fire benders shoot fire from their feet why can't the waterbenders do it too

well, they can do it, Katara did it in the Serpents's Pass and Aang in the Painted Lady

The southern waterbenders cannot, because in chapter 8 of book 3, when Hama had a flash back saying that the fire nations guards tied her hands to the cage so she could not waterbend. It said nothing about feet which means that they could not bend with there feet. I don't know about the northern tribe or the swamps.

Well, like what candybender was saying, it's just the style. Hama and other waterbenders probably just didn't train their waterbending utilizing feet.

More fact to prove that waterbenders can bend with their feet:
Remember that plant bender dude? The one that makes his super suit out of the plants and whatnot. He'd have to use his feet to move around obviously.

I say yes. Fire and earth benders can use their feet, and bumi can even bend with his head!!!!
