I personally believe that they can. Maybe not in combat, but perhaps on a more general level. After all, just because combat bending uses martial arts doesn't mean that bending as a whole does. Of course, I could be wrong. I mean, maybe those simple movements that the characters use when they utilize their banding skills for something other than combat really ARE martial arts moves, but I highly doubt it.
So yeah, just because Tai Chi [which I believe is the martial art style that waterbending is based off of] does not have very much feet involvement, doesn't necessarily mean that a waterbender could not bend with their feet.
Just my thoughts.

Haha waterbending with ur feet. Lol! Wise Uncle Thinks that after a long tiring day with ur sweaty feet, u can just bend the sweat away or make it into Iroh's Fave Jasmine Tea for a nice drink!

seems like they should be able to since earth benders can bend with their face. think about boomy And also like Toph in "The Runaway". So again, I'd personally believe that although they might not be able to do so in combat, that when it all boils down, a waterbender could bend with their feet. The reason for not in combat was because in "The Waterbending Masters", Pakku's ice trap disabled Katara from moving her arms, and that was how he won. (well, and the fact that it was an old, experienced master taking on a kid, but that's a rant for another thread) |
